Put your trust in Cassandra Cayson with Events On Point By Jillian Chandler
With Events On Point, owner Cassandra Cayson helps both businesses and individuals create unique and memorable events from start to finish. From location scouting to vendor coordination, timeline management to guest lists, she handles every little detail to make each event a huge success. “I also provide concierge services for families or small groups needing help with arrangements such as dinner reservations, a private chef, or even a fun excursion,” she adds.
“I grew up with a big family and have always been ‘the planner’ of the group,” she remembers. “I guess I took that role as big sister pretty seriously and wanted to make sure everyone was always taken care of.”
In high school, working in restaurants was an easy fit for Cassandra because of her love for the fast-paced environment while ensuring the guests were happy with their experience. She would go on to get her business degree at the University of Southern California, while continuing to work in restaurants and intern with public relations and event planning companies. After graduation, she moved to New York City, where she managed restaurants and assisted companies such as Levi Strauss and Revlon with major event planning projects.
After owning and operating restaurants in Sandpoint for more than a decade, it was time to use her passion for service and focus it on a new endeavor—event planning. And that’s what she did. Events On Point is where she combines her passion for serving people while dishing up an incredible experience.
“I still wanted to work with people in a service-oriented role while utilizing my organization and management skills. This led directly to the creation of Events On Point,” she notes.
With a passion for planning, production and overall operations of events, the idea of being able to create something unique for each client resonated with Cassandra. “Event planning was always a part of my role while in the restaurant industry. Stepping into my own event planning business felt like a natural transition for me professionally and gives me an opportunity to work outside of the box to create a more unique experience. I love working with a client long term to create their dream event—and then see that vision come to life.”
Events On Point launched in the fall of 2022.
Cassandra is excited to share all of the wonderful events she’s had the privilege to plan during her first several months in business. She is honored to have had the opportunity to work with multiple nonprofits for seminar events and fundraiser galas, as well as baby showers and bridal showers. “I am currently planning some spectacular summer weddings, a funky disco-themed birthday party, and a large community festival. It's going to be a really fun summer, and I love that every event is so unique,” she smiles.
As of press time, Cassandra was excited to share that she was busily working with Panhandle Alliance For Education (PAFE) on their Summer Gala. “It is an amazing fundraising event, hosting 300 guests for a fun cocktail reception and premier dining experience at a stunning lakeside venue. The PAFE team is really special to me because I’ve worked with them many times in the past and am so honored to be on their team for this very special event.”
As Cassandra shares, the most important aspect of the job as an event planner is to provide each client with the trust to fully participate in their event, knowing that the operations are handled professionally. “With over 20 years in the restaurant industry, I developed skills focused on customer service, team leadership, conflict resolution and time management,” she affirms. “Ultimately, there’s a lot going on behind the scenes for the successful production of an event. It is my job to make sure it all flows smoothly, so that you and your guests get to enjoy the event to its fullest.”
Although the business itself is still new, Cassandra is grateful for the long-lasting relationships she’s created in the community over the past 12 years, adding, “Everyone here has provided significant support and opportunity to grow Events On Point, and I am excited for its future!”
For those interested in utilizing Cassandra’s services, she does her best to accommodate last-minute requests. To ensure a booking with her, she asks that you reach out well in advance, especially for those events taking place over the summer months and holiday season. “Aside from my services booking up quickly during peak season, other vendors and venues book up also,” she reminds. “For larger events, I recommend we start the planning process at least six months in advance so we can work with preferred vendors.”
Whether you’re planning a one-day business summit or an outrageous wedding celebration, don’t underestimate the value of an event planner on your team. Do you have an event planned for the fall/holiday 2023 season or in 2024? Let Cassandra and Events On Point bring your vision to reality.
