Custom fabrication focused on accuracy and durability

For more than two decades, Monarch Marble & Granite has helped shape kitchens, bathrooms, and gathering spaces across North Idaho with surfaces that balance durability, precision, and timeless design. Founded in 2002 by Josh and Brooke Stebbins, the business was built on a straightforward passion for stone and the belief that well-crafted surfaces should function beautifully for years to come.

That original focus still guides the company today. The team specializes in custom fabrication and installation for a wide range of applications, including kitchen countertops, showers, fireplaces, tabletops, and specialty surfaces. They also offer tile sales, giving clients a cohesive way to complete an entire space with intention and consistency.

The materials used span both natural and engineered stone, offering flexibility in look, performance, and budget. Common selections include granite, engineered quartz such as Silestone and Cambria, quartzite, soapstone, porcelain, Dekton, and marble. Each option brings its own strengths, and helping clients understand those differences is a central part of the process.

Every project begins with a conversation. Rather than pushing a particular product, the team takes time to learn how a space will actually be used. Lifestyle, family habits, maintenance expectations, and design preferences all factor into the selection process. Cabinet samples, flooring, paint swatches, and inspiration photos often come together in the showroom during that discussion.

“Those early conversations save people from making decisions they’ll second-guess later,” says Brooke Stebbins. “When we understand how someone lives in their space, we can guide them toward materials that make sense long-term, not just on day one.”

Stone and surface materials are sourced from all over the world. Many natural stones come from regions such as Brazil and India, while others, like Cambria quartz, are manufactured in the United States. That global sourcing allows access to a wide range of options while staying current with new materials and industry innovations.

Once materials are selected and details are finalized, the project moves into fabrication and installation, where accuracy becomes critical. Digital templating captures precise measurements that guide the fabrication process. Full slabs are cut, shaped, and polished using Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment, combined with years of hands-on experience to ensure consistency and accuracy. Installation is handled by an experienced team that ensures each piece fits cleanly within the space and integrates as intended.

What ultimately sets the business apart is a commitment to communication, integrity, and high-quality results.

“It is impossible to exaggerate how focused we are on precision. Everything we do, from estimating to templating to fabricating to installing, is based on precision. We utilize state-of-the-art machinery, from digital templating to a variety of CNC fabricating processes. When paired with a craftsman’s mentality, this results in a superior product that we can be proud of, and that our clients will want to share with their friends and family for years to come,” says Josh Stebbins.

What ultimately sets the business apart is a commitment to communication, integrity, and high-quality results. Each project is treated as a partnership, with the goal of delivering a finished product that reflects the client’s vision while standing up to everyday use.

Operating in North Idaho has further shaped that approach. Surrounded by mountains, lakes, and a strong sense of community, the team draws daily inspiration from the natural environment they call home. That connection to place is reflected in their respect for materials and their dedication to craftsmanship that lasts.

With over 20 years of experience, Monarch Marble & Granite continues to combine modern technology with thoughtful service, helping homeowners and builders create spaces designed to endure.
