Jorn and Dinah Reger are the proud owners of Summit Exteriors, a family-owned business in Sandpoint. While Dinah was raised in North Idaho, Jorn was born in Germany and lived most of his life in Canada. They moved to Sandpoint to start their family and business in 2021. "Sandpoint is beautiful, and we wanted our kids to grow up in the beauty of North Idaho," Jorn says.
Jorn's inspiration to start his own business was driven by his desire to change the stereotype of construction. "I worked on many construction crews doing roofing and other trades and had to deal with listening to horrible language and talk, the 'good enough' attitude, and little appreciation for the work or the client," he recalls. "I wanted to change this and decided that going out on my own was the best choice for me.
Roofing and siding were the skills I knew best and stuck with. Our desire in our business is to honor the client, show off our craftsmanship, and provide customers with an experience like none other."
Unlike other similar companies that employ cheaper subcontractors from out of state, Summit Exteriors prides itself on employing locals, including many of Jorn and Dinah's family members. "Our crews do quality work on the roof, siding, or gutters of your house, but that is not where we stop," affirms Jorn. "We have thorough communication and follow-up, a commitment to any warranty work, and care for your property—all of which cannot be achieved with a simple attitude of 'just get the work done.'"

"We can talk all we want from the office about how awesome they are, but they have the ability to show up and live it," Jorn says proudly. "We can finish a project, knowing we did amazing work, and see the completed project being appreciated by the client."
And, of course, there are the customers. "We are nothing without them," adds Jorn. "We get our drive from always pushing the limit on value."
