How one family’s faith became a home for mothers in need

By Like Media Team

Humble Hillside Farm Maternity Home (HHF) is a place where faith meets action. Founded by Jake and Jacci Humble, HHF was created with a simple but deeply meaningful goal: to walk alongside mothers with grace, dignity, and practical care as they prepare for motherhood and life after their time at HHF.

Every aspect of HHF is guided by the belief that each woman is created in the image of God and worthy of love, stability, and support, shaping a daily rhythm of care that meets women physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Prayer, encouragement, and healthy relationships are woven into everyday life, offering mothers the opportunity to rest, heal, and rediscover their God-given identity during a vulnerable season.

The heart behind HHF was formed through a deeply personal experience. During the final six weeks of her pregnancy, the birth mother of Jake and Jacci’s adopted daughter came to live in their home after experiencing homelessness. Sharing their home during such a sacred time revealed something profound about what women in crisis truly need.

Reflecting on that season, Jacci Humble shares, “That experience opened our eyes to the power of simply showing up. Women don’t just need resources. They need to be seen, known, and loved in a way that reflects Christ’s heart for them.” That single act of obedience became the foundation of HHF and continues to shape the home's culture today.

HHF provides long-term residential maternity care, including safe housing, nourishing meals, transportation assistance, parenting education, and life-skills development. A dedicated House Mom and trained volunteers walk closely with residents each day, creating a steady and supportive environment. Several nights a week, overnight newborn care is available so mothers can rest and recover, an essential part of healing both body and spirit.

Care at HHF is individualized. When possible, the home works toward healthy family formation, partnering with programs such as 7B Care Clinic’s Fatherhood Program to engage fathers when reconciliation is appropriate and safe. When that is not an option, mothers are supported through either a parenting path or an adoption path, guided by the founders’ own lived experience as adoptive parents.

The impact of HHF is already evident. One mother arrived after traveling nearly 3,000 miles while pregnant and living in a homeless shelter. The morning after she arrived, she shared, “I feel like this is literally God doing the nicest thing for me.” Within a day, her anxiety eased, and her body began to rest, marking the beginning of renewed hope for both mother and child.

Looking ahead, HHF is focused on strengthening what is already in place while planning for steady growth. The home can expand from three to five bedrooms, allowing HHF to welcome more mothers without changing the level of care each woman receives. This expansion could also open the door to supporting pregnant minors in the future.

HHF reflects a quiet but steady expression of faith through daily care and genuine relationships. As founders, Jake and Jacci Humble share, “We are ordinary people who said yes to what began as a small idea placed on our hearts. Through prayer, patience, and many small steps of faith, that idea became this home. While HHF exists to bless the women and children who walk through its doors, it has also been an immeasurable blessing to us, reminding us that God is faithful far beyond what we could imagine.”
