Dr. Sarah Manross has joined the Lewis and Hawn dental team in Sandpoint, bringing her expertise and commitment to patient care. Born and raised in a small town in South Carolina, she grew up in a dental office because her dad is a dentist. Initially, Dr. Sarah didn’t envision following the same path, but after shadowing her dad and several other dentists during college, she discovered her calling. After visiting Sandpoint last year, she and her husband decided to make the move. They were drawn to the beautiful mountains, lake, and year-round outdoor activities. The welcoming community felt similar to the small town where they both grew up, making it the perfect new place for them to call home.
Excited to join forces with Dr. Lewis and Dr. Hawn, a duo with a well-established reputation in the Sandpoint area, Dr. Sarah looks forward to learning from them while contributing her expertise. “When I found out that Dr. Lewis and Dr. Hawn were looking for another dentist, I was so excited because their reputation is exemplary. We share the same values when it comes to practicing dentistry. Treating patients like family is important to me,” she shares.
Dr. Sarah's approach to dentistry focuses on ensuring her patients feel at ease. She explains, "It has been rewarding to give my patients a gentle and comfortable dental visit, which changes the entire dental experience for them moving forward." Aware of the anxiety some patients may feel, she is committed to making their visits positive and stress-free.
Regarding new techniques, Dr. Sarah plans to build on the practices Dr. Hawn and Dr. Lewis established, particularly focusing on treating TMJ issues, obstructive sleep apnea, sleep-disordered breathing, and tongue ties—areas where Dr. Hawn has specialized. She is enthusiastic about learning how these treatments can transform patients’ lives, saying, “Before coming to this practice, I didn’t realize how much we can transform someone’s health, energy, and well-being by improving how they breathe.”
Dr. Hawn shared his thoughts on Dr. Sarah joining the team: "We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Dr. Sarah. Dr. Sarah has already embraced the Sandpoint community and looks forward to making meaningful connections as a resident and a dentist. “I quickly learned that Sandpoint is the type of place where everyone seems to know each other! There seems to be a plentiful supply of kindness and a real sense of togetherness here,” she says. She is eager to contribute by finding ways to get involved, give back, and serve others.
