Keisch Berrey was drawn to embark on her journey of equine massage for rodeos when she discovered that Washington state had requirements that one must be a licensed massage therapist (LMT) before continuing education units (CEU) for animal massage. While working to become licensed as a massage therapist, Keisch developed a love for working with people with injuries. She moved from Washington state to North Idaho, where she has been doing massage since 2005.
More than a decade later, in 2016, Keisch had the opportunity to purchase Wildflower Spa. “This was my chance to try my hand at entrepreneurial business while still enjoying working on clients too!” she reflects. “The original lady who owned Wildflower, Dauray Tannahill, believed in me and offered me this amazing opportunity.
”Wildflower Spa was originally established in downtown Sandpoint before moving to its current location at 424 Sandpoint Avenue overlooking beautiful Lake Pend Oreille. “I had originally worked as an LMT at the Spa at Seasons, and the space was sitting empty,” Keisch explains. “I loved the location and was able to move Wildflower there in 2017.
Wildflower Spa at Seasons is proud to be an Aveda-concept spa and salon that provides an elegant, relaxing and healing atmosphere for their clients. They offer specific Aveda services, from Chakra balancing and stress-fix massage to Tulasara anti-aging facials, and all of their hair color is Aveda. “We also offer amazing natural nail services that we incorporate Aveda products into,” Keisch adds.
The highly skilled massage therapists, estheticians, hairstylists and nail technicians value their guests and go above and beyond for each individual, supporting and encouraging one another, which results not only in a great team but a beautiful environment to be in for everyone. Wildflower incorporates a spiritual aspect into their services based on the Navajo quote, “In beauty may we walk.” As Keisch explains, “Aveda has deep roots in India; the founder, Horst Rechelbacher, journeyed there and created Aveda based on Ayurvedic principles. We believe in inspiring and educating people to integrate wellness and beauty into their lives to feel and be their best selves.”
Keisch finds much fulfillment in her work and that of her team, but most rewarding is having guests who have shown her love and support for so many years. “Seeing repeat clients is incredibly rewarding, especially here in our beautiful small community,” she says. Outside of work, Keisch is blessed to have her four amazing children; her most fulfilling accomplishment in her life.
